The sky is a sphere of thin plastic, beyond which is a translucent pudding, blue during day, black in the night, which appears to be like space.
No puddingness is visible from earth, but don't be fooled.
It's there.
When I look up into the blue sky of day, past the clouds, I feel that I see farther than when I gaze at the night sky with its many stars.
