Baseball

Baseball is the best game ever, bar none. I've played it and watched it more times than I can remember. I can step onto a baseball diamond and everything is good.

I'd rather listen to a game on the radio on my front porch with a cooler of beer, than watch it on TV. Baseball on TV is no damn good. The game's too big for TV.
Radio lets you use your imagination, so your experience is probably better then the real game. If you want to imagine Albert Belle breathing fire and giving the crowd the finger as he walks to the plate, you can do that with radio. If you're watching the game on TV, all you get is Albert giving the finger.

Of course, going to a game is the best. Last night was dollar hot dog night. Skip dinner, have 4 dogs and 2 beers, Yankees vs. Rangers, extra innings, Texas almost pulled it out, except for a bad call at the end with Alicea.

And I was there.

Game 5 of the American League Championship Series is in progress right now. David Ortiz just hit a home run in the bottom of the eighth to bring the Red Sox within one run of the Yankees.

Baseball is the thinking man's game, fun and interesting to watch, especially in the late innings, and especially the National League.

Tonight, Game 5 in the 2018 World Series: Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

This is only the second time the two teams have faced each other in the World Series. The first time was in 1916, more than one-hundred years ago, when the two teams were known as the Boston Red Sox and the Brooklyn Robins.

The record for the most innings in a World Series Game was set in 1916 at fourteen innings in Game 2. This year that record was broken in Game 3 when the two teams went head-to-head for eighteen innings. Boston won the game on Monday, October 9, 1916, 2-1, over the Robins in the game played at Braves Field in Boston, Massachusetts. Los Angeles won the game on Saturday, October 26, 2018, 3-2, over the Red Sox in the game played at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California.

Game 5 and both teams have been pushing forth with their best. And here we go: first pitch in four minutes.
