It's been years. Years and years and years since I've been home, but still at night in my dreams I hear the calling and the laughter of my friends.

Jane is the woman whom I was trapped with in an elevator, which had stopped working all of a sudden. While waiting to be rescued, we told each other Gothic stories, which made us alternate between thrill and laughter. In the end, we had got to be friends. Laughter and imagination have been characteristics of our friendship down to the present day.

Tennessee Williams wrote: We all use each other and that's what we think of as love, and not being able to use each other is hate. A ship struck an iceberg at sea – everyone sinking – but that's no reason for everyone drowning for hating everyone drowning!

A true friend remains a friend even when you don't deserve to have a friend.
